sparkle and shine

Hi, everyone! I couldn't let this week go by without making a post. I wanted to share some of my purchases from last weekend. I bought this vintage silver clutch and golden saucer for under $10! I noticed there were a lot of metallics in my things as of late. I can't resist a little shimmery something every now and then. How about you?

1. metallic shooz, 2. rooftops {detail}, 3. Stack o' clutches, 4. silver apple earrings, 5. goldstuff, 6. silver, 7. Untitled, 8. susyluxe* andra in silver, 9. Untitled

I rounded up a few glimmering Flickr favourites that've caught my eye. There's a little bit of everything! Do you have any favourite sparkling things? I find metallics so sophisticated and luxe! When something is in silver or gold, it just seems that much more special. Some of these shots have me wanting more! More gold, more shiny. More. They also leave me wanting to create a gleaming image of my own.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! (And for some of you, happy long weekend!)

rose coloured glasses

Hello! It's such a beautiful day here but I just wanted to pop in and see how you all were doing. I can't believe it's already the end of the work week. I guess that extra day off helped! One of the things I found on the weekend was this lovely pink glass plate. And it was only two dollars! I think it is the same pattern (which is apparently called "Anniversary" according to the lady that owns the shop) as this sugar bowl that my mom gave me a few years ago. Don't you just love when things like that happen!

As I mentioned last week, Sarah updated her shop with a limited edition letterpress note set. It features her gorgeous peony in both a pink print and blind emboss. I can't wait until mine arrives in the mail!

Well I'm off to enjoy the sunshine and dream up ideas for the gocco...

Have a fabulous day!

perfectbound goes on tour!

We are so thrilled to be a part of Bloesem
's World tour in May! The lovely Irene has been taking us all on an adventure around the world, and the next stop is right here in Winnipeg. When we first read some of the spots Irene had lined up, we were humbled to be among them. We thought this was such a brilliant idea and have been enjoying all the wonderful destinations so far! If you haven't already stopped by, you really should!

We thought we'd give you a little sneak peek at what our stop on the world tour has in store. Of course we don't want to give it all away....you'll have to head over to Bloesem
to find out the whole story! What we can tell you is, there are some great retro furnishings and a whole lot of pattern!

Thank you Irene, for inviting us to be a part of your world tour!

Have a great day everyone!

all fun and games

Hello, friends! We hope you're all doing well! We had a nice long weekend filled with a few finds (which we'll share, of course) and some exciting mail. We checked out some of the usual shops and visited a few we haven't in a while. We even came across a fair packed with rides and candy. Fairs are always so colourful, aren't they? Just walking around and taking in the atmosphere is enough for us.

Our special package arrived on Friday! Our new best friend came in from Japan. We also got a wonderful colour chart to help with our ink selection. (We may have lucked out with some perfect perfectbound inks still available!) We've got another package coming in a few weeks with a Gocco accessory kit and supplies. Our kit came with cloth ink and screens, too, so we'll have lots to test out. It was like Christmas, opening that box! If any of you have and tips or tricks you'd like to share, please do. We can't wait to get printing!

Have you all checked out Janine's posts and pictures from the Stationary Show? And a Happy Belated Birthday to Joy, who's also at the show! Oh, how we'd love to visit one year. Wouldn't you?

And you can now pre-order A Year of Mornings here!

Oh, and stop by Heather's shop and pick up some lovely original pinhole goods
. Love the message cards, H! Nothing better than type and texture.

Have a wonderful day!

one persons trash....

Happy Friday to you all! For us here in Canada it is the beginning of a long weekend, of which most people consider the unofficial start of summer. Garage sale season is starting to get into full swing so Julie and I will be scouting out the sales...I'm very excited! We got started a little early the other day and found these cute pieces at a thrift store.

What are some of your favourite things to do on a summer weekend? I've always loved the idea of a summer fair or a farmer's market. All the great smells of fresh fruit and fresh breads. Not to mention all the handmade goodies.

And since I hope to be relaxing this weekend, I wanted to find a fun new drink to try and came across this Cherry Lemonade recipe on the Martha Stewart site. And with just four ingredients, it couldn't be easier! Plus, the colour is just so pretty. I love this pitcher from JuJu Too and thought it would be lovely for summer drinks. It comes with six glasses in three more wonderful hues.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
